Too bad that today the boats are caravan without the possibility of...

Everything ok, shame about the modern sailing boats are something very far from the "sail boat". The sails in ceramic and the modern hulls do not help exploit the wind. It is known, however, is a pity. For the rest, no negative comments but all positive.

Great area to navigate but Beware to shipowners.

The holiday went well, but we should better control the profile of the shipowners. They handed me a boat full of problems and shortcomings: electricity, engine, systems missing, worn sails, tools crazy, furling mainsail defective. A NIGHTMARE. Even the boat was delivered dirty.

Dear Marenauta,
the client just says things about us and the yacht without to give detail information.
1) First of all the electrical cable brake the 2nd or 3nd day at the port in the Marina Gouvia as the boat were moving from the wind and he didn't do anything to protect it.
2) From the engine the oil alarm where on after two weeks trip, so when he call me I told him to disconnect the cable from the sensor as the oil level was OK, but he didn't understand and he disconnect another cable and the beep alarm where on again! So the next day I went on board and personal I disconnect it.
3) SOME SYSTEMS MISSING-What does he mean!!
4) WRONG SAILS I think that he wants to say... Okay why were wrong the sails and how he understand that, the sails from the yachts are specific for each type.
5) Navigation equipment gone crazy... What exact didn't work? the speed, the wind direction? The instruments are two years old, I have the invoice of buy it.
6) ROLL DEFECTIVE he means that the sails are not working, because both has roller reefing system!!
7) We delivery the yacht dirty and why he didn't tell anything to us on the check in procedure or after sign the yacht contract and before ofcourse to depart?
We are happy that he came back as when he left from the port without any wind he couldn't use the gearbox well and to manoeuvre the boat at the port so we have to rest him with a rib and push him away of the others yacht which was over to crash.

Week on a catamaran between the islands of the Tuscan archipelago

We had a wonderful holiday on catamaran between the islands of Tuscany. The space is perfect if you want to sail in comfort. We were two families with a total of 4 adults and 5 children. The catamaran is comfortable and easy to maneuver and provides the opportunity for all, to find enough space and still maintain the necessary privacy that often in sailboats fails. Too bad for such small problem with the engine that made us change the program for the last two days, but in any case to which we have been able to cope. Excellent hospitality to Giglio and Elba ... too bad that the rough seas did not allow us to get to Pianosa. We are already thinking about the next trip on a catamaran!

A great holiday, shame about the boat that had the water drain in the floor that was not right, it smelled of smoke in an impressive way, the batteries with the engine off did not exceed the 7/8 hours of battery life, and it broke the electric windlass. Obviously called the owner of the charter to say that we were without anchor: he told us he could not do anything about it. So beautiful place, but shame for the owner.

We will change lot of in next week, first our base will be in Marina Zadar...

Costa Smeralda in June.

I spent a week in June sailing with the family in tranquility, visiting the most beautiful places of the Costa Smeralda. Fortunately all went well and I have not encountered any problems on the boat and in the Marina, although the stretch of sea on the Straits of Bonifacio can be quite insidious. Definitely an experience to be repeated.
