Oceanis 38.1 Matilde 130572/25 review We recently chartered the Oceanis 38.1 and unfortunately found some significant problems. The **cover** above the wheels was holed in several places and unstitched. When it rained, water came in, causing flooding of the forward cabins. Furthermore, the listing mentioned 3 cabins (8+6+2), but in reality the "plus two" is actually a "plus one", as the saloon table was fixed and does not allow an eighth berth. The fridge has a broken bottle rack and the door also opens and closes with difficulty. Not to mention that you at Marenauta told us check-in had to be done on 13/9 at 8 a.m., but you did not inform us that Oceanis Matilde had to be at Marina di Scarlino on 12/9 by 4 p.m., thus removing a day from our holiday. We would have expected better maintenance and clearer communication for a vessel of this calibre. Angela

Good morning,

Unfortunately, the client encountered a week of bad weather during which, without closing the hatch, some water inevitably entered.
As for the table, it comes out of the Beneteau yard like this. No modifications have been made.
We understand that some cosmetic elements after a season may not be as perfect as at the start of the season, and we are naturally sorry about this, but after more than 20 weeks of charter during the year, we believe that talking about poor maintenance is an exaggeration; it would be more accurate to speak of wear from use and minor issues that will be fully restored during winter maintenance.
Our check-in/out procedures are, on the other hand, always more than transparent, and we are sorry that the client did not take note of them.

Great holiday  
I'll say straight away that it was an excellent week. Everything smooth from check-in with the harbour staff who were very helpful, courteous and professional. The boat fully met our expectations, clean and efficient. I would have preferred melamine glasses instead of glass ones (one broke directly in the locker). Check-out was fast too. Excellent choice!

I chartered the boat from Sailing Sicily, for the first time, and the overall judgement is very positive. Marenauta's intermediation was decisive. I wanted to sail between Elba and the Tuscan archipelago. Thanks to Marenauta I found a well-equipped boat at a very competitive price. I received excellent assistance both by phone and at the base.

Excellent week on Elba, with room for improvement on the boat and o...  
The overall judgement of the holiday is excellent, taking into account the fact that we always found sun, little sea and when there was no wind we went looking for it, managing to do a lot of sailing. The return passage from Elba to Scarlino was one long beat with 13/17 knots of wind. The boat (Gloria) is substantially very good, with some aspects that could be improved. The autopilot switched off by itself a couple of times, bimini and sprayhood were tired and dirty (they need replacing), the cockpit cushions (paid separately despite the extras fee being over 500 euros) were low quality and general cleaning of the boat good but not very attentive to detail. Welcome, check-in and check-out procedures need reviewing. Below I will recommend the owner for the competitive price and above all for the zero-deposit option, which I consider very valid because the related voucher can be used at any of their bases in Italy. Not for check-in, check-out and assistance operations, in my view to be reviewed, at least in Scarlino that week.
