Everything went well, despite some initial concerns arising from the request for the deposit in cash and the initial proposal to meet at the marina bar to sign documents, even before viewing the boat and doing check-in. Marenauta's support was nevertheless prompt and effective.

Friendly team, but disappointing handling of defects and deposit  
Marios and Angie were always friendly and helpful. Our sailing cruise itself was wonderful and brought us a lot of joy. However the yacht was already getting on in years. During the cruise several defects became apparent, including a leaking toilet, a dinghy losing air, handheld radios not ready for use, and a washbasin whose water on the first day already drained very slowly and after two days of normal use was completely blocked. The biggest annoyance came after the cruise. The washbasin already had restricted drainage at handover. 200 € was withheld from the deposit for the repair and the damage was blamed on us. That was absolutely not justified. The photo sent merely shows hair and deposits as they accumulate over a longer time – not damage caused by our crew. (Besides, this bathroom belonged to the cabin of a bald man (me) and his blonde wife.?) After nearly 40 weeks of sailing as skipper I know very well what a deposit is for: for damage caused by the charterer. Not for normal wear or maintenance deficiencies. A shame, because up to that point we would have conditionally recommended the charter company. Handling of the deposit has unfortunately permanently destroyed that positive impression. Another point future charter guests should know: we were offered a free shuttle to a "supermarket". In fact it was more of a delicatessen with correspondingly high prices. For a ten-person crew shopping there would easily have cost several hundred euros more than at a normal supermarket. We therefore took a taxi to another supermarket instead and still came out significantly cheaper despite taxi costs. Anyone provisioning a larger crew should know this. My advice to future charterers: if you choose this charter company, photograph and document absolutely everything at check-in. Make videos, test taps, radios, toilet and all important systems yourself. There is a risk you will be held responsible for pre-existing defects or normal wear. Our check-in was very superficial and done in a few minutes, while check-out was carried out in the smallest detail and extremely meticulously.
