Very nice until check out with MedSailGroup
The yacht itself is very comfortable and we had a great holiday overall. Marenauta’s communication was also very smooth and responsive throughout the booking process.
From a sailing perspective, however, the boat showed it was already heavily used in places. Several lines/sheets were quite old, and with only two winches the setup is not particularly practical for active sailing. One winch is effectively needed for the German mainsheet system and the other for the jib, which leaves very limited capacity when reefing or adjusting sails under load.
Check-in went smoothly and was handled by two people. Check-out felt very different: several people became involved in inspecting the yacht, and the process felt disproportionately focused on finding chargeable damage. The charter company even spontaneously proposed sending divers to inspect the underwater parts of the boat, something I had not experienced with previous charters.
We were ultimately charged for three items: a missing bow-thruster propeller, a small bow scratch, and damage to the self-tacking jib traveller. We accept the bow scratch and do not dispute that the bow-thruster propeller was missing at check-out, although we never noticed any loss of bow-thruster performance during the week. We do dispute responsibility for the self-tacking jib damage. The traveller fixing failed during a tack despite a retaining rope already installed by the charter company, and a neighbouring Hanse 418 from the same base reportedly suffered an apparently identical failure on the same side during the same week.
Because of the way the damage inspection and charging were handled, the check-out left us with an uncomfortable impression and felt more like a search for deductions than a normal handover. That said, if you separate the check-out experience from the rest of the trip, the holiday itself was very enjoyable and the boat was comfortable.

Unfortunately the weather conditions did not favour us—too little wind and instability. As for the rest everything was fine and a very nice experience, as always in Greece.
