E' stata la prima esperienza in Barca a Vela con il gruppo dei miei cari amici genovesi. Abbiamo fatto il giro antiorario dell'Elba, poco vento ma tanto sole. quiete e tranquillità. Notti in rada ed escursioni a terra. La barca era un pò datata ma a posto come attrezzature. ottima pe runa tranquilla crociera con amici e amiche. Pensiamo di ritornare...

Good Catamaran, great location

Our experience had several goods and bads. The Eolian are a great location for a charter. The Catamaran was good and spacious. The original crew were fired by the owner the morning we were going to embark. The company had to hire a Captain and a sailor/cook the same day. We had to wait till 10 pm for the Captain to arrive the boat. We stayed at the marina instead of sailing to the first stop. The crew was kind and tryed to please the group. However the GPS/Sonar was not working and because of that, the last night the boat hit a small sand peninsula and we were stuck for several hours. It could have been very dangerous if it was rocks instead of sand.

The vacation was excellent. We had a problem with the dingy - in the last moment before leaving the marina it turn out that that dingy on the boat could not be used. The crew did not have a reserve one, so they gave us another old dingy that leaked and it was risky to use.

DA NON RIPETERSI

Ora mi è difficile ricordare tutti i particolari . Il proprietario della barca era a Atene e non voleva che l'agenzia a Lefkas , dove Voi vi siete appoggiati, riparasse e spendesse dei soldi . C'erano cose da sistemare ,comunicate dagli equipaggi precedenti , ma mai messe a posto e quindi ce le siamo ritrovate tutti noi . Alla fine l'agenzia ha sostenuto anche delle spese per venire a fare assistenza . Soldi che io non ho pagato , pero' firmando una carta dove dicevo che "non pago in quanto non sono d'accordo "

Splendidi Caraibi

Siamo stati in gruppo, 18 persone su due catamarani ed è stata una splendida esperienza. Unica nota negativa la società di charter, che pur avendo noleggiato dal sabato, non ci ha lasciato partire prima delle ore 11 della domenica.

We are sorry to read that you were not completely satisfied with our service.

However it is well stated in our offers that the boarding is at 6 pm and check in done the next morning.
That is because daylight is needed for the check (for example visual check of sails). And in the Caribbean it gets dark at 6 pm. So a technical briefing is only possible the next morning.

Maybe you expected an evening check in, like in the Mediterranean, where in summer it gets dark later and that is possible... However in Caribbean most flights arrive in the afternoon /evening which is usually too late for a check in on Saturday (during daylight) and the clients leave the boats on check out day only at 10 pm (not 8/9 am like its common in the Med)

Also night sailing is forbidden so they could have not left the same evening after 6pm boarding.
