Departure Cres (Cres Island) - After the construction of the new Marina, the old city centre has turned into an authentic nautical resort. By sailing from this Marina it is possible to take the tour of both Cres and Losinj Islands in 7 days. In the Quarnero region it is possible to find the most beautiful and authentic resorts, famous for their gastronomic specialities, its natural patrimony and its old architectural beauties.
Day 1° Osor (Cres Island) - During the first day of navigation, move towards Osor which is 20 miles away from your point of departure. You'll be delighted by a walk around this resort: you can find the town hall, the cathedral and the rests of some Roman walls. In ancient times, Osor was a crucial point on the course between Venice and Otranto. Find a free, after the English fashion, mooring on the coast, in Bijar Bay, in the north of the canal where Cres and Lusinj Islands are linked by a bridge (open form 9 a.m. to 5 p.m.).
Day 2° Susak (Susak Island) - During the following day, you are faced with an easy, 15 miles-long navigation towards Susak Island; you also have to possibility to make a little stop in one of Unije Bays. Susak is still one of the most interesting islands of the zone thanks to its particular characteristics: its sand, its cane fields, is wine, its folklore, its local dialect which is a mixture between the Croatian dialect and some Americanisms brought by the immigrants. Just in case you are looking for a mooring sight at the little harbour at the entrance of Susak, or whether you want to moor at roadstead, be aware that you are not sheltered from the Bora.
Day 3° Ilovik (Ilovik Island) - On the third day you can visit one of the most beautiful southern beaches of Losinj Island (Krivivca, Balvanida, Pliski) and then spend the night in Ilovik (13 miles far away). One of the most important meeting point for North Adriatic sailors, Ilovik is a little village with a church, little food shops and restaurants. The canal Ilovika Vrata between Ilovik Island and the small isle Sv. Petar is the true reason of its popularity: it is 6 metres deep, it is sheltered from any kind of wind and there is mooring sight enough for up to a hundred boats. The best thing, especially when the Bora is blowing, is to fasten the boat to one of the sixty buoys along Sv. Petar coast.
Day 4° Rab (Rab Island) - The day after Ilovik, sail north-east for about two miles towards Male Orjule and Vele Orjule. When you have passed the little straits between this two islands, drop anchor again. The white sand floor of the lagoon and the thick coniferous wood that slopes down towards the sea make it place one of the most beautiful places for a morning bath. From here you still have to sail for 19 miles to reach Rab. Here you can feel a special vibe during summer nights: in actual fact, here you can find many coffee bars and konobe (taverns). But Rab is also particularly fascinating because of the harmony created by cosy, little streets, bell towers and gardens. In Rab Marina, in front of the tower bell, you can find a good mooring sight.
Day 5° Krk (Krk Island) - The fifth day is dedicated to the well-known Senjska Vrata: it is necessary to change course due north towards Krk (20 miles). If the Bora is not blowing, you can fearlessly sail: a strong Bora is vary rare before autumn. Anyway, if the wind makes it difficult to sail, you'd better come back to Cres through the to Lun on Pag, Jadriscica on Cres, Cape Krizia, and sail through Osor Canal. When sailing towards Krk, don't forget to stop in one of the most beautiful bays, set between the city of Rab and Cape Kalifronta. In alternative to Krk it is also possible to steer towards Punat. Krk offers a lot of entertainment and a pleasant atmosphere.
Day 6° Beli (Cres Island) - During the second-last day of your cruise, you can head north towards the cape of Cres Island. In Srednja vrata by the side of Krk, you can find many hidden creeks and, along the west cape of the island, the fascinating Glavotok with its monasteries and churches. If you wish to spend some time there, stop at Pod Beli's little harbour in Cres and take the path to Beli, a picturesque village castled on the coast, from which you can enjoy a wonderful view.
Day 7° Rabac - Before sunset, sail around Cres, by the side of the Istrian coast, and steer to Rabac. From here it takes 14 miles to come back to Cres Harbour and on the way back you can spend your afternoon in the beautiful Valun.
